About

openOM is an open standard and toolchain for machine-readable offering memoranda, published by Vervelio Labs.

openOM embeds a broker-asserted, hash-verified data payload inside a commercial real estate offering-memorandum (OM) PDF, and mirrors the same payload as JSON-LD on the web. The idea is simple: extract once at the source, then let every downstream consumer - a CRM, an underwriting model, a listings portal, an AI agent - read the deal in milliseconds with zero inference, instead of re-parsing the same PDF badly and repeatedly.

The project is published by Vervelio Labs as a neutral steward. The specification is licensed CC-BY-4.0 and the toolchain is MIT, so anyone can implement, embed, and build on it without permission or fees. The engine, the MCP server, and the consumer tooling contain zero LLM or inference calls - any AI-assisted mapping runs client-side or on-device in the authoring layer only.

openOM records who asserted the data, that it is unaltered, and as of when. Verified means provenance - not that the opinion is true. An offering memorandum is an advertisement: a broker's opinion of value, agreed to by the seller before publication. openOM never claims the numbers are correct; it makes them attributable, tamper-evident, and cheap to consume.
